To our valued clients,

This past weekend has been a whirlwind of public health information. To support the public health initiatives and to encourage you to take good care of yourself and your loved ones we have decided to implement exclusive online therapy sessions, effective March 17, 2020.

This response is not one of fear but one of concern and compassion Supporting the public health efforts to promote social distancing is one way that we can support the most vulnerable in our communities.

As indicated in the letter we sent out last week, we will be using a video therapy platform called Although face-to-face therapy is our preferred method, this is a temporary service we are providing given the seriousness of the current situation. Where a client cannot access the internet or other barriers exist to carrying out online therapy, we can also offer telephone therapy. Although online therapy is very different and can feel awkward to consider, we have had success with it in the past with clients and it can be a very effective method to continue your therapeutic work until we resume in person sessions.

Our goal is to help everyone stay safe and healthy and to provide our clients uninterrupted psychological treatment.

If you are not interested in using the online platform or telephone counselling and would prefer to wait and reschedule when this urgent situation has resolved, please let us know so we can cancel your future appointments. We will maintain a client list to contact when our face-to-face sessions resume.

In order to move forward with online therapy in the most responsible manner possible, we will require you to sign an informed consent document specific to online therapy. We will forward this email to you when you let us know whether you want to continue using online therapy. Once we send you the document, please sign and send this back to prior to your first online session.

At the time of your scheduled appointment, please choose a quiet and confidential space for the session. You will need to login to using the link unique to your therapist prior to your first online session. Please sign in to your therapist’s virtual waiting room 5-10 minutes prior to your session. We have provided therapist’s online links below:

If you have any questions please contact us at or by emailing your therapist directly.

We truly thank you for your understanding; we are well aware that this is a difficult time and that for some of you providing alternate methods of therapy can be disconcerting. Please know that we understand this and will work with you to ensure your therapeutic needs are met in a safe manner. We will let you know as soon as traditional face-to-face sessions resume. In the meantime we look forward to connecting with you online.

Take care
