Often kiddos struggle with big emotions and those can sometimes be expressed either emotionally or behaviourally. There are lots of events that happen in a child’s life that can be overwhelming and that they sometimes need help processing and understanding. Sometimes, parents also need help with how to assist their child in processing their emotions and changing behaviours. There are several modalities that can be used with children; these include, play therapy, art therapy, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and EMDR (a trauma processing modality). The modality will be chosen as being the most effective choice for working with your individual child and what will most benefit them.
