Teenagers are at an important crossroads in their development, They are learning how to be independent while still needing structure and parenting. They may be struggling with peer interactions, depression, anxiety, disordered eating, changes in the family dynamic such as divorce or separation, grief and loss or they may have been exposed to trauma. There are as many needs for adolescents to engage in therapy as there are for adults. As teens are transitioning to adulthood, we work with parents to determine how to move forward with their child to respect both the teen’s confidentiality while honoring the parents desire to understand and help their teenager.
At Reframed Psychological, we have team members that work with adolescents and that are trained in a variety of modalities that can facilitate treatment that is customized to be effective for your teenager, These modalities may include ACT, CBT, EMDR, Narrative therapy or art therapy…(to name a few).
