Hi, I’m Tianna, a Métis registered provisional psychologist with extensive experience in various communities since 2012. I’ve had the opportunity to support individuals, families, youths, seniors, and specialized groups such as the LGBTQ+ and Indigenous community, helping people navigate economic hardships, homelessness, trauma, and various life challenges. My diverse background equips me to understand and address your unique needs with empathy and insight.
As a proud Métis citizen, I am committed to offering culturally sensitive and personalized mental health care. My approach is person-centred and strength-based, emphasizing a deep understanding of your unique needs, celebrating your inherent strengths, and finding effective ways to navigate life’s hurdles. I believe in a flexible, nonjudgmental, and empathetic approach, blending humour and humility to create a supportive therapeutic environment.
I work with clients of all ages—from teenagers to seniors—addressing a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and boundary setting. My therapeutic practice integrates approaches such as Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Adlerian Therapy. Additionally, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for effective trauma processing. I have completed Gottman Method Couples Training level 1 to enhance communication, boundary setting, and deeper connections in relationships.
My goal is to provide a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your emotions and gain insight into yourself. I am a sex-positive, LGBTQ+ affirming therapist with a trauma-informed perspective, including awareness of generational trauma from residential schools.
Outside of therapy, I have taught an Indigenous course to junior high students, highlighting the history and traditions of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples. I also enjoy snowboarding, volunteering to take adults to the mountains, and playing board games and nostalgic video games like Mario and The Sims. My long-term goal is to become a registered animal-assisted therapist, reflecting my deep passion for animals and commitment to innovative therapeutic approaches.
Starting therapy is a brave step, and I am here to support you through this journey.
